Jane Ingram Allen was selected for the fellowship award Artist-in-Residency this year at Pond Farm Pottery, Guerneville, CA. Jane has been an artist in residence at Pond Farm, just outside Armstrong Woods, in the Austin Creek State Parks Recreation Area, from August 8 – August 28, 2026. Jane has been creating new works and experimenting with some new techniques in her hand papermaking art inspired by the trees and beautiful nature surrounding the Pond Farm Pottery as well as its rich heritage and history. Pond Farm is the home and studio of Bauhaus-trained potter Marguerite Wildenhain and now on the national historic register. Here is a photo from my residency at Pond Farm taken by one of the Park staff. This image shows some of my process and experiments with paper casting. I also tried cyanotype on handmade paper and other things during my time at Pond Farm, and I will be posting more images soon on this site.

what a wonderful idea to capture the texture of the bark from the live oak, I’ll look forward to see how this special paper manifests in a new art creation!
