Just a reminder that the deadline for sending application materials for the 2017 Cheng Long Wetlands International Environmental Art Project is January 20, 2017. This will be the 7th year of the annual outdoor sculpture project that I curate in Cheng Long village, Yunlin County, Taiwan. This year the invited artists will come to stay and create their site specific works from April 13 – May 8. Selected artists receive a US$2000 stipend, airfare, accommodations, food and volunteer help. The theme this year is “Take Action – Live with Change” and artists will work with local school children and volunteers to create large scale outdoor sculptures with natural and recycled materials that are eco-friendly and encourage sustainability and taking action to live with climate change. I will be reviewing emailed entries and selecting the 2017 artists by Feb. 20. For more information about what to submit see the Blog at http://artproject4wetland.wordpress or email me at allenrebeccajanei@gmail.com
Hope to see your entry soon!

Dear Jane, I really enjoy your blogs as I am also an Eco artist working in paper and plastics to talk about water issues. I would love to apply for this residency but already have one in Indonesia and an exhibition in China at the same time. Possibly next year would work. Please keep me in your mailing list. Good luck, have a great time. Sandra Hansen Holland, MI 49423423 276-0065www.sandrahansen.com

Hi Sandra, Thanks so much for your comment, and I will definitely let you know about next year for the Cheng Long Wetlands artist in residency project in Taiwan. I also curate other exhibitions and residencies and will keep you in mind for any that are appropriate for your work. I also recommend you look at joining WEAD Women Eco Artists Dialog at http://www.weadartists.org I am on the Advisory Board for this organization and have participated in several projects organized by WEAD and it is great for networking with other eco artists.
